The Hobbit – Peter Jackson Maps Out More of An Unexpected Journey

Or at least behind the scenes of the first Hobbit movie. Jackson and the team behind a film that will serve fans of Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy films as a prequel. The production team continues to put together some of the best pre-release featurettes I’ve seen, bordering onthe quality of material you’d get as features on most DVD/Blu Ray reelases (though that’s tough to say when it comes to films based in Middle Earth films, because the features on the trilogy discs were rather amazing).
In this latest video released on the official Facebook page, Jackson continues out tour of a number of things we will see in The Hobbit, from costumes, stages, weapons, models, stunt doubles and more. If you stick around until the end you will see a familiar face drop by. Jackson points out that the next featurette will be the last and will be released after production has wrapped. Also, yesterday, Jackson announced that The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey would premiere in New Zealand on November 28th. It will hit U.S. theaters on December 14th. The second part of Tolkien’s The Hobbit story(in film form), titled There and Back Again, is expected in December 2014.
