TNT’s L.A. NOIR Hung on Punisher for Bugsy Role?

Frank Darabont, who recently brought us the first season of AMC’s zombie hit The Walking Dead, has moved on to TNT to develop L.A. Noir and the word is that yet another familiar face may be circling a role, this time in the form of a former Punisher (though not my favorite one) and Hung star Thomas Jane. THR reports that Darabont wants Jane to play the role of Bugsy Siegel in the period crime drama. The famous mobster would not appear in the pilot, which has already wrapped, but is eluded to.
Already in the L.A. Noir is former Walking Dead star Jon Bernthal and Heroes star Milo Ventimiglia. Bernthal will play the central role of a cop who is gunning for mobster Mickey Cohen, while Milo plays an upcoming ace Mob lawyer and former marine who served in the war with Bernthal. Also cast is fan favorite Simon Peg (Shaun of the Dead, Star Trek, Mission Impossible) though specifics of his role are as of yet unknown, we only know he appears in the pilot. Veteran actor Neal McDonough has been cast in the role of the LAPD police chief. The cast has been rounded out with a couple more former Walking Dead hands, Andrew Rothenberg and Jeffrey DeMunn.
