American Horror Story Season 2 Taps Carnivale

Sometimes it feels like no other show has been more busy with casting for its second season as has FX’s American Horror Story. The latest addition, Clea Duvall, seems like a perfect fit, and will appear in multiple episodes of American Horror Story season 2. Duvall has been in quite a bit of films and television shows (a lot of smaller roles in  really good films too, like Girl, Interrupted, 21 Grams,  Zodiac, after having a run in her early career that the encompassed teen films of my older childhood, like a favorite of mine, Can’t Hardly Wait and Robert Rodriguez’s The Faculty)  but she’s perhaps best known as Sofie from HBO’s fantastic and too short lived supernatural show Carnivale.

TVline reported Duvall’s involvement in the FX horror drama’s sophomore run, also stating that while no specifics about her character are available, that she may appear with Sarah Paulson, who is one of the several returning performers from season one – when she played Billie Dean Howard - portraying different characters. As I mentioned previously, a host of new faces have signed on to appear in next season’s offering of American Horror Story, and you can get a run down of them via our menu for the show. The names include Lizzie Brochure, Mark Consuelos, Chris Zylka, Britne Oldfor, Chloe Sevigny, Adam Levine, and more!

American Horror Story season 2 hits FX later this year, in October, for 13 episodes (with a possibility of an extension) and is placed this time in the ’60 at an insane asylum ran by another returning actress, Jessica Lange.

This is probably the only real horror show on television and the quality of the product is pretty amazing, meaning that even as someone who is not typically a horror fan, I admire the craft put into this show. It’s well acted, well shot, and is legitimately frightening at times.
