American Horror Story Season 2: All My Children Alum Checks In

American Horror Story FX

It just wouldn’t feel like a Ryan Murphy series if American Horror Story weren’t bursting at the seam with character upon character, hence why we’re still hearing casting news for the horror anthology show. Every little casting decision on AHS is notable because you never know who will become important to the season’s storyline. And because each season features a new setting and characters, you never know who’s going to return each year. You’ll need to make sure to cast the very best actors in case you want to bring them back as someone else in a later season, as is the case with Zachary Levi and Sarah Paulson, who both started out in recurring roles in Season 1 and our now regulars.

As for the latest actor being brought into the AHS family,  All My Children alum Mark Consuelos was the lucky man chosen. He’ll be playing one of the patients in the season’s East Coast setting – an institute for the criminally insane. His name will be Spivey, which sounds more like a moniker than his birth name, but that is all we know at this point. Details for the season are being kept tightly under wraps. We still don’t even know what the basic plot will be; only that Jessica Lange will be playing a nun and will have the hots for Joseph Fiennes. In what way will this be a horror story? I’m not sure, and I’m not about to start guessing in case it turns out I’m way off base.

Oh, what the heck. I’ll give it a shot anyway. Given the setting, I would feel safe saying mental stability will be a heavy theme. We might get to see that some of the people in charge of taking care of the patients are not so kind, possibly even performing experiments on them. It could be that some of the patients were perfectly healthy and placed in the institute against their will, where they were given whatever symptoms of mental illness they were accused of having. Now that sounds like a horror story.
