Criminal Minds Season 8 – A Scandal Returns

Mighty fine Bellamy Young will be returning to Criminal Minds after, relatively, successfully charming even  the Paget Brewster (who we recently learned has made the move to SVU) base that her Beth Clemmons was a good choice for the Thomas Gibson portrayed Agent Aaron Hotchner. Young started her stint on Criminal Minds at the end of last year and is looking forward to closing out the story arc of her character, telling TVLine that it, “is such an incredible gift, because it balances out everything I get to do on Scandal”.

Scandal is where you most likely have caught Bellamy recently, where she’s recurred as First Lady Mellie Grant for the ABC political thriller last year in its first season. Young is getting a bump in Scandal as well, being promoted as a series regular for the upcoming second season. Her return to Criminal Minds will be for at least two more episodes.

Last month we learned that CBS locked up a Criminal Minds cornerstone when they re-upped Matthew Gray Gubler for two more years. Replacing the rather large shoes of the aforementioned Paget Brewster on the team will be Jeanne Tripplehorn, an actress whose film work  I’ve always enjoyed

Criminal Minds returns to CBS Wednesday nights for its Season 8 premiere on September 26th. You will be able to catch Young on Scandal when it returns to ABC for its second season the day after.
