We’ve been hearing about a ton of young movie and television stars reading and/or interested in being in Fifty Shades of Grey, a movie based on the novel of the same name by E.L. James that’s both scorching hot on sales charts and the celeb rumor mill. It wasn’t going to be long until a young singer started putting their name into the Fifty Shades of Grey newsfeeds, and that’s exactly what JoJo has done, while talking to MTV.

JoJo’s new album, her third studio release, is expected to be available later this year. Titled Jumping Trains, it’s JojJo’s first since 2006 (and if you’re a fan you’ve probably already heard the first single, “Demonstrate”), and while she says she drew inspiration from ’90s R&B sound like Aaliyah and Genuine, she also was influenced by her reading of E.L. James’ erotic novel.

JoJo also answered a question regarding any desire to be in the film herself, having had some experience in film, including in RV (with Robin Williams) and Aquamarine with Emma Roberts.  You can hear her answer to that question of taking on the role of Anastasia Steele and who she’d want to see in the male starring role of Christian Grey in the video below!

Whatever happens with the Fifty Shades of Grey film we should be on a faster track now with updates now that the producers have been selected, with the team of Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti overseeing the production.
