Gossip Girl season 6 casting may be ramping up a bit now, with Barry Watson of 7th Heaven fame now set to join our final season chronicling the daily adventures of Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Ed Westwood, and Chace Crawford on the Upper East Side. I say ramping up because just last week we learned that former LOST love Andrea Gabriel nabbed a recurring role on the CW soap.

 According to Tvline  Watson will play Steven Spence, a young entrepreneur, who is set to add some Gossip Girl finale season spice to Blake Lively’s Serena van der Woodsen love life. Not other details about his role is currently known about Watson’s character. Since 7th Heaven, Watson  has had  starring vehicles for him like What About Brian (which was co-produced by Abrams’ Bad Robot team) on ABC,  and was also in Christina Applegate’s Samantha Who?, also on ABC.

Gossip Girl returns to CW for its final season on Monday, October 8th.
