Vampire Diaries Season 4 – Grace for April, Nina Dobrev’s Friend

The Vampire Diaries has locked up the second of its two major new characters announced for its upcoming fourth season. Cute Grace Phipps, who you may have caught as Amy on ABC Family’s The Nine Lives of Chloe King, will be Mystic Falls’ April, a girl with past ties to both the Gilberts, Nina Dobrev’s Elena and Steven R. McQueen’s Jeremy. April is coming back to town from private school after the death of her father, and it sounds like Nina Dobrev is going to try to shield her from some of the town’s supernatural oddities, which now includes Dobrev herself after the events of last season.
Last week we got the word that the role of Connor, a vampire hunter, the other character announced to be on his way to Mystic Falls, would be filled by Todd Williams. Like Williams, Grace Phipps will make her Vampire Diaries debut in the second episode of the upcoming season. Phipps isn’t a complete stranger to vampires, having appeared in 2011′s Fright Night.
The Vampire Diaries returns for its fourth season this fall on The CW on October 11th. Earlier this week we brought you the teaser trailer for the upcoming season to get you primed for the return of CW’s top rated show, which will lead into one of the network’s new shows, the Kristin Kreuk starring Beauty and the Beast.
