Law & Order: SVU Season 14 – Adam Baldwin is the New captain!

Firefly fans, a man they call Jayne is back! Adam Baldwin has been tabbed to take over the Captain’s chair in Law and Order: SVU when the NBC crime drama returns for the SVU 14th season this fall. Due to circumstances that occurred in last season’s finale, Capt. Donald Cragen (played by Dann Florek, who has been involved in the Law & Order  franchise from the beginning – we are talking like 1990 deep ). The addition of Baldwin comes just days after the word that former Criminal Minds star Paget Brewster would be coming on board the SVU team. Speaking of Brewster, her character will be the one  handling the Florek case for the DA.

TV Guide brought the word of Baldwin being set to portray Captain Steven Harris, who is described as the interim captain, who will take some heat from his new subordinates, including Mariska Hargitay’s Olivia Benson. Baldwin is set to appear in the first three episodes of the season while Cragen’s fate is decided.

Baldwin is also set for an appearance in the recently kicked off new season of TNT’s Leverage later this fall. I’m a big fan Baldwin, love him in everything from the aforementioned Firefly, to Chuck, and a great part in Angel representing the senior partners.

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit season 14 starts back up on NBC on September 26th.
