Cassandra Clare’s Mortal Instruments – Pangborn and Blackwell Found

A couple of weeks ago we were able to tell you that Cassandra Clare’s Mortal Instruments had found its big screen adaptation’s Isabelle Lightwood in Jemima West and now they’ve gone to the other side, filling the roles of two “henchman” of the series bad, Valentine. The roles of Pangborn and Blackwell have gone to Kevin Durand and Robert Maillet according to Variety.

Durand has been in quite a few things but I know him from LOST , where he played Keamy, the really big dude in charge of the wetwork group sent to the island to take Ben out, and from what I saw, not a man that bluffs. He was also the Blob in MARVEL’s Wolverine movie. Robert Maillet, not so much. Apparently he was a wrestler, but he does have roles in two big films coming up, del Toro’s Pacific Rim and the sequel to Percy Jackson. Seeing that he was also in 300 and Immortals where he played a minotaur and uber immortal respectively, it completes my image of him as a beast.
Of the casts, Clare herself has this to say:
I would not want either of these guys mad at me so I’m just going to say that they seem very henchpersonish to me and I am excited to have them on board the project (and be rounding out the cast.)
Mortal Instruments stars Lily Collins and Jaime Campbell Bowerand is set to be released August 23rd, 2013.
