Dexter Season 7 – Watch the First Two Minutes!

Dexter Season 7 has had a lot of pressure on its shoulders ever since Season 6 ended with Deb stumbling upon Dexter killing his latest victim. It could be considered the show’s biggest cliffhanger and it left us all wondering where the show would go from a potentially game changing twist. In the big scheme of things, we’re still mostly in the dark, however in a two-minute sneak peek we can see how what the immediate fallout of Deb’s discovery will be. You can check it out in the video below. In all honesty, I have to say I was a little disappointed in what was shown.

The teaser picks up right where Season 6 left off – Dexter standing over the now deceased Travis Butler with a confused Deb looking on in horror. Immediately, she pulls out her gun and trains it on Dexter. Guess that love she was feeling for him doesn’t mean much with he’s got a knife and a corpse. Deb is all curse words and Dexter can hardly believe this is happening. For me, I thought this would be a great time for Dexter just to come clean about everything, but instead he does the only thing he knows how to do when he’s found himself under suspicion: lie.
And you know, the lies aren’t even that clever. He says that he was doing a final forensic sweep when he happened upon Travis. He plays the my-wife-was-murdered-and-I’m-angry card to justify his sudden lapse into murder. Deb nods like that could make sense, but notices it doesn’t explain why everything looks so neat and well thought out. Oh, but Dexter has an answer prepared for that as well – as a crime scene investigator, it’s second nature not to leave a trace. His lies are simply lackluster, but apparently Deb believes them for now. Still, she’s going to call in the rest of Miami Metro. The video comes to an end just as Dexter makes a move to stop her.
What does everyone else think? Does Season 7 start off in a good way, or are we looking at more of the lesser quality television that was Season 6?

I happened to like season 6. Clearly Dexter is not as good as the first few seasons but it is still better that 95% of the tripe on the air

Besides that funny error I think it has good potential the explanation could have been way better or he could have just came clean instead of another lie that really makes no sense as to why he’s dressed in his kill outfit or why he has kill tools and why travis is wrapped in plastic and how did deb not remember she was wrapped in plastic the same as Travis in season 1 by Rudy honestly how do you forget something like that but regardless I’m looking forward to this season I’m interested to see how this plays out.

It looks pretty lame. I agree with you on 6, it stank and was very clumsily written. Does anybody know if the same writing team are on board?
