Spartacus: War of the Damned – Liam McIntyre, Charging and More Promo Images

Spartacus: War of the Damned

The End Begins indeed. Starz has released some promo pics for the the third and final chapter of Spartacus, sporting the hardcore name of Spartacus: War of the Damned.  Once again Liam McIntyre is the titular Spartacus, having replaced Andy Whitefield in the role staring with Spartacus:Vengeance, who tragically passed away last year.  To my knowledge these promo images are the first we’ve seen of the upcoming seasons since the short video teaser from last month that hit just days after we learned that War of the Damned would be the end of the road for the Spartacus franchise at Starz, which honestly caught me by surprise considering how popular the show seems to be for Starz.

The images below which I saw over at Collider, show us Liam Mcintyre as Spartacus, Cynthia Addai-Robinson’s Naevia, a couple of charging group shots, and Manu Bennett’s Crixus.

For fans of Spartacus, the show creator Steven DeKnight had some news drop about his next project coming up, Incursion, a science fiction action-thriller in development at Starz. Here is the summary that was released about Incursion:

an epic science fiction action-thriller that follows a squad of soldiers caught in a war against a hostile alien race.  Each season the battle will be fought on a new, exotic planet as humanity punches deeper into enemy territory. Grittily realistic combat, darkly complex characters and intrigue on a cosmic scale will permeate the tale of fighting men and women facing the pressures of war and an enemy unlike any ever seen.

Spartacus: War of the Damned will  start up on Starz in January 2013.
