True Blood Season 6 – HBO Continues Sookie Sundays

True Blood

True Blood is just a few weeks into its 5th season, but fans of the HBO vampire drama won’t have to go through any waiting sucks campaigns to find out if there’s more Bon Temps fun to in their near future. HBO has re-upped True Blood for next season, but it won’t be without some changes. Showrunner from day one, Alan Ball, who adapted The Southern Vampire Mysteries series of novels by Charlaine Harris to “create”  True Blood for tv will not be with the show in that capacity next season.

Instead, Ball will have a hand overseeing two new shows, one at HBO’s sister channel Cinemax in the form of Banshee (which sounds like of awesome), and the other a medical drama at HBO called Wichita (though I’m unsure if that’s just a tentative title for now). Banshee will run for 10 episodes and is aiming at a 2013 release. Wichita is about Dr. George Tiller, a doctor from Kansas, who was shot to death by some anti-abortion  nutjob in 2009.

True Blood is still going strong for HBO this season, ruling the cable Sunday nights.
