American Horror Story 2: Ryan Murphy Spills Minor Spoilers

American Horror Story: Asylum FX

Things have been kept tightly under wraps for American Horror Story’s second season, subtitled Asylum, but ever since he discovered Twitter, creator Ryan Murphy has proved to be quite the little teaser, every now and then handing out the tiniest of spoilers regarding the new direction the series is taking. Up until now we’ve known Season 2 would take place at a Catholic Church- run institution for the criminally insane set in New England in the 1960s and would be overseen by Jessica Lange and Joseph Fiennes’ characters. Other than a few returning actors – Lange, Zachary Quinto, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, and Lily Rabe – this new season will be featuring a new cast and everyone will be playing a new character in a new story. That’s a lot of new, so it goes well with the new information revealed by Murphy.

As reported by TV Guide, Murphy has been spilling little secrets regarding some of the cast and other elements of the series. Despite a claim that anyone returning from Season 1 would be playing the polar opposite of their characters in that season, Murphy was able to say Lange’s new character would be a little bit of good and evil. This may have to do with her character’s role as a Catholic nun going through some serious temptations.

Season 1’s most iconic character was the “Rubber Man,” a creepy man in a creepy black suit. A picture tweeted by Murphy revealed a new character that would be Season 2’s equivalent of Rubber Man, known as “Bloody Face.” If you were a fan of last season’s Halloween episode, then rest assured knowing there will be another episode themed around this frightful day. In fact, the Halloween episode will be the second of Season 2, suggesting the season will premiere as late as October 24 if the episode is to air on Halloween. And finally there will be a new opening credits sequence, but hopefully the song and font will still be the same since they were unsettling and suited the show very well.
