For my money I’m not sure if a show, certainly no new show, had more visceral and odd teasers and promos as did FX’s American Horror Story. Like the show itself, the promos stir mood and are on many occasions disturbing, a bit of a lost art in horror in my opinion. Most horror I’ve seem – across mediums – are goofy, have poor production quality, and don’t move me in anyway, especially not in any direction remotely associated with being scary (not all of these are bad; just all of them except Shaun of the Dead or anything that stars Bruce Campbell – which somehow pull it off spectacularly) . American Horror Story‘s first season was none of that, it’s a super slick horror show that’s actually a horror show and doesn’t ever come off as a joke.

Enough of that though, it’s time to for season 2, called “Asylum”, and we have this short teaser from FX called “Glass Prison”.

American Horror Story’s second season premieres on FX in October and while a bunch of familiar faces from season one return in brand new roles, we have a motley parade of newcomers as well, like Jenna Dewan, Clea Duvall, Mark Consuelos, Chris Zylka, Adam Levine, Chloe Sevigny, Lizzie Brochere, Britne Oldfor, and Franka Potente – that’s a hell of group right there!
