How I Met Your Mother Brings Back Artillery Arthur

Arthur “Artillery Arthur” Hobbs is making a comeback on How I Met Your Mother and may end up playing a big part in the future of Barney and Quinn’s relationship. He’s one of the show’s greatest recurring characters, right up with there with Brad – he’s returning to the show as well, by way. We haven’t seen him lose his cool in front of one of his employees in quite a while, but there’s still time. His divorce sort of neutered his ferocity in Season 6, but he’s had over a year to get over his personal life. Before his time on HIMYM is over, I want him to go all Artillery Arthur on someone!
Bob Odenkirk will be appearing in Episode 2 of Season 8 where his corporate lawyer will be representing Barney in his pre-nup negotiations with Quinn. According to TVLine, this could end up having negative repercussions for the newly engaged couple. Pre-nups can be a difficult thing to get through for some couples, and we already know they’re doomed to break up. October will be home to an episode that is being called a “breakup extravaganza.” I highly doubt Barney and Quinn will survive through the fall. If they do I’ll be thoroughly amazed.
Whether or not Arthur has a direct affect on their relationship is something that cannot be predicted just yet, so I’ll hold off on that for now. Odenkirk is always a welcome addition to the show and I hope this won’t be his only appearance this season. He plays these characters so well, whether it’s Arthur or Breaking Bad’s Saul Goodman. Wouldn’t it be great if Arthur’s lawyer were Saul? Now that would be a crossover I could get behind. The more Odenkirk the better! And I think their hairstyles are so different we won’t even notice they’re the same guy! Well, except for his face and voice, but who cares?
