Dexter Season 7: All Fears Put to Rest by New Trailer

Dexter Showtime

For the first time since the end of Season 6, I am genuinely excited about what is coming in Season 7 of Dexter. I admit, I haven’t been too kind toward Dexter for the last couple of years – I think most will agree there has been a significant drop in quality, particularly in Season 6 – but the latest trailer for the new season has me whistling a different, more upbeat tune. However, just because I’m excited does not mean I’m no longer skeptical. I am more than aware of how manipulative these promos can be – their very purpose is to elicit as much anticipation from the audience as possible. But for now, let’s just bask in how great this trailer is.

As you can see in the video below, things aren’t going to be easy for either Dexter or Deb now that Dexter’s secret is out. Sure, after Deb discovers Dexter’s kill room he manages to convince her it was a brief window of insanity and helps him dispose of the evidence, but as the trailer plays on Deb becomes more suspicious that maybe that wasn’t the first time Dexter’s murdered someone. And he isn’t the only one. LaGuerta finds one of his blood slides, clueing her in that the Bay Harbor Butcher may still be around. And Deb is connecting the dots as well; noticing Dexter’s method of killing is eerily similar to the way she was tied up by the Ice Truck Killer.

Things of interest to note: Louis seems pretty unhappy with Dexter, who returns his dislike by threatening him and sticking a needle in his neck – could Louis be heading toward his own kill room? – and there’s a brief shot of what looks like Dexter slicing Masuka’s neck open. But the most worrying thing is Dexter seemingly drugging Deb’s drink, suggesting he may have opened up to the possibility of killing her if the need should arise.

About Brody Gibson

+Brody Gibson studied film in Vancouver, BC. I originally intended to become a video editor, but realized I have a passion for writing. To say I love television is a bit of an understatement. I watch it religiously, think about it constantly. To be able to talk about it is one the best things in the world. Combining that with my love of writing gives me the opportunity to express my opinions to the Internet masses and start gripping conversations.
