Justin Bieber Mentoring on X-Factor?

Justin Bieber The X Factor Fox

You better beliebe it – if one is to believe the words of Justin Bieber’s Twitter feed, then the Canadian pop star will be popping up on the impending season of The X Factor as a celebrity mentor alongside current judge L.A. Reid. I can’t help but imagine some of the contestants being less than thrilled to have someone as young as Bieber working with them – not that I’m questioning his talent, just his experience. Some of these contestants are going to be grown men, and thus less likely to be fans of Bieber. For the younger women it will be a dream come true. Guys like me will just be annoyed they have to put up with this little guy who got famous off his YouTube videos. And then we’ll realize we’re trying get famous from a reality show competition. It’s the crow calling the raven black.

Regardless of whether or not you would want Bieber mentoring you, it does seem his claim to being on X Factor is legit. He tweeted “Long day but great day,” on Monday, adding “@LA_Reid @ScooterBraun just like old times!” For those of you who don’t know, Braun is Bieber’s manager. He also tweeted, “Away from twitter all day getting this work in. missed my peoples. #BELIEBERS love you. #DirectRelationshipWithMyFans #MUCHLOVE.” As you can see, he likes hashtags. Perhaps a little too much. But you can’t say he ever forgets his fans.

Also coming on as a celebrity mentor is Nick Jonas, who will be paired up with Demi Lovato. No word on who Britney Spears and Simon Cowell will have as their mentors, but it’s only a matter of time before that info is released. With Jonas and Bieber already on board, I’m inclined to think it will be other young pop stars who will be brought in, such as Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus. Heck, why not Carly Rae Jepsen? Get her while she’s still hot!
