Cinemax’s Banshee Teases us with Hotties, Sex, Driving and Dual Wielding.
This is actually pretty hot. Admittedly we haven’t had much to go on with Banshee excluding casting news, a basic summary and that former True Blood showrunner Alan Ball is an executive producer (Jonathan Tropper and David Schickler are the co-creators), and thus I’ve been kind of lukewarm on it, but this very brief teaser, for some reason, has increased my interest by several times and now I want this screener NOW. I’m not a huge True Blood fan – mostly because I’m just not a fan of the vampire element in general across all mediums – but I do like almost everything else about the show, regarding the tone and pacing and there’s something familiar here, and I like it, even though it is a short teaser and can be manipulated very easily with how its cut. Still, I’m digging it.
In case you haven’t heard, the basic Banshee gist is that it follows an ex-convict and current thief, played by Antony Starr, who assumes the identity of the sheriff of Banshee, Pa. (who was murdered). Along with Starr, Banshee has put together a pretty watchable cast, especially with Ivana Milicevic and former House Doc Odette Annable involved.
Banshee is on my radar for 2013, but I’m not sure if it’s enough to add Cinemax to my cable package. Yet.
