New Girl Casts Carla Gugino and Maria Thayer for Schmidt and Nick

New Girl Fox

New Girl is bringing on a couple of very, very attractive ladies to mess around with the hearts of some of the men in Jess’s apartment. We can all look forward to seeing Carla Gugino and Maria Thayer doing their thing with Schmidt and Nick respectively. And as is the usual game on New Girl, these girls won’t at all be good for either man, but it could take them some time before they realize their too far up the creek without a paddle. All in all, Schmidt will have a much rougher – and possible more hilarious – time compared to Nick, but I still envy neither of them.

As reported by E! Online, Thayer will be playing a former girlfriend of Nick’s from his college days. She broke his heart all those many years ago, but now she’s back to haunt him, on Halloween no less. Because of how things ended between them, Nick will still be hung up on Amelia, but she’ll be back with a terrible flaw. Any ideas what will be wrong with Amelia? I haven’t a clue, but I hope it’s quirky. Knowing Thayer, she’ll be great in whichever way she presents her character. And she’s possibly the most adorable redhead currently not getting enough exposure!

As for Gugino, EWsays she’ll be playing Schmidt’s new, seemingly sweet boss, but we’ll quickly learn it’s all a façade to mask her freaky sex life. And Schmidt being Schmidt, he gets roped into a relationship with her that might borrow a few pages from the much talked about Fifty Shades of Grey. She’ll even have him sign a contract! Oh, Schmidt; what have you gotten yourself into? Gugino will be hanging around for three episodes, with the first being Episode 7 of New Girl’s sophomore season. Season 2 will be starting Sept. 25, so mark your calendars. If you’re on the fence about whether or not you want to come back for more New Girl, just remember there will be more sexy ladies this season!
