Olivia Munn and Zooey Deschanel at the Same Time in New Girl Season 2

Fans of former G4 geek queen turned legit Newsroom actress Olivia Munn will be able to catch her this fall on TV, having landed a role in between seasons of the HBO news drama, and is headed to FOX’s New Girl. The Zooey Deschanel led show currently in its second season will feature Munn as Angie, Nick Miller’s (Jake Johnson) current girl. Zooey and Olivia in the same space for a half hour is a good thing, I’m thinking.

Deadline describes Munn’s Angie as “sexy, earthy, charming and can hold her own with the group”, which sounds just like… Olivia Munn. As noted, this won’t conflict with Olivia’s work on Newsroom season 2. Zooey and New Girl returned to FOX earlier this week to kick off its own second season, and I’m sure we will have promo pics for you of Munn in her appearance when they become available.

Olivia Munn is actually just the latest in rather high profile guest star announcements for New Girl, as just earlier this month we learned that Carla Gugino would be appearing for a 3-episode arc. I like whoever is in charge of casting.
