ABC’s Castle Pulls In General Hospital Vets Nancy Lee Grahn and Jack Wagner, Switches Mark Deklin in for Chris Wiehl

Castle ABC

Castle is preparing itself for one stressful episode that will focus on divorce, giving the episode a very War of the Roses feel. With all the drama and theatrics that usually surround particularly scandalous divorce proceedings – not to mention the death threats – it would seem like the perfect storm for a murder. The episode, titled “Significant Others,” will require some heavy hitters to pull off so much melodrama, so who better than a few soap opera veterans, well versed in the language of over-the-top-acting, which is exactly what you need to do if you hope to win a judge in your favor so you can get a hold of your former spouse’s priceless collection of Russian nesting dolls.

TVLine reported Nancy Lee Grahn of General Hospital fame would be guest starring in the episode as Samantha Voss, the wealthy, recently divorced woman in a desperate struggle against her ex-husband (Weeds’ Brendan Ford). But that’s not the only character whose life has been touched by the rollercoaster that is a broken marriage. TV Guide broke the news of Jack Wagner’s casting, who is also an alum of General Hospital. He will be playing former pro golfer Billy Piper. His life will be going a little more smoothly than Samantha’s because his ex is dead, and so is the divorce attorney, so legal matters aren’t really a problem for him. Wagner was tailor-made for this role due to his real-life skill as a golfer. He’s hosting the 7th Annual Jack Wagner Celebrity Gold Classic in April for cancer research and patient services.

And to turn this casting news duo into a trio, TVLine as well reported Mark Deklin has suddenly replaced Chris Wiehl. No reason was given for the abrupt change, which likely means it was due to personal reasons. The episode is currently in production and is scheduled to air in January 2013. With all the casting going on for one episode, it had better be one to remember.
