Justified Season 4 Finds a Partner in Crime for Boyd in Ron Eldard

Justified FX

Justified is absolutely bursting with interesting characters and whenever I hear news of somebody new coming to the show my heart skips a beat. The latest addition to the wonderful cast will be played by the magnificent Ron Eldard of ER fame – or for the younger audiences, he can be see in J.J. Abrams period sci-fi adventure, Super 8. He’s an absolutely fantastic actor and immediately I can envision him walking around Harlan as if he was always there. He fits in with the environment of the show and that alone leads me to believe he will be another fine asset in the Justified family.

According to TVLine, Eldard will be the new recurring character of Colt who will be Boyd Crowder’s latest partner in crime. Colt will be a violent, dark-humored and rule-bending sergeant within the military police. He’s a veteran of Desert Storm, as well as the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. During their time in Kuwait, Colt jailed Boyd multiple times and the two eventually became friends. I’m very excited to see Eldard working closely with Walton Goggins, who easily one of the best actors in the series. Putting the two of them together can only result in good things in my opinion. But I think I’ve gushed enough.

Also appearing in Justified’s fourth season is comedian Patton Oswalt as a former high school football star turned constable. David Meunier will once again appear as Boyd’s cousin Johnny. With a list of supporting cast members like this, why would you ever bother watching anything else when you could be watching Justified? I’m seriously asking. I don’t understand why, if you have the option, you would want to watch anything else. There are few shows with characters as compelling as these – Breaking Bad being one of them. Justified just understands how to take advantage it’s standout cast to tell great stories. End of rant.
