True Blood Season 6 – Rutger Hauer is the First to be Cast

We are well into fall now, and since October is the perfect month to be talking about vampires and werewolves, I think it’s about time we had some news for True Blood’s sixth season, set to appease your lust for blood next summer. Each new season of True Blood needs a new big bad to anchor its stories to, and while Bill has pretty much made himself the biggest possible threat, there’s always room for one or two other characters to lurk around and kill a bunch of people. And do you know who would make a pretty good bad guy if needed? Rutgrt Hauer, of course!
The man best known for playing Roy Batty, the robot evading capture in Ridley Scott’s sci-fi masterpiece, Blade Runner, is set to appear in Season 6 as a series regular, reported TVLine. His character, a man known as Macklyn, is of the mysterious and sinister variety, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll be playing a villain. Sure, saying a guy is sinister immediately brings to mind the type or person you would associate with evil doing, but he could always be something like an antihero. Maybe he’ll do sinister things to bad people. It’s really comes down to context.
But if that wasn’t enough to make you wonder about this guy, then you should know Macklyn will have deep ties to both Sookie and Jason. Immediately, I’m wondering if he’s a relative of their’s. Perhaps a long lost uncle who used to change their diapers? Pushing all that aside, my biggest question is: is he human? This is a supernatural soap opera! Most of the characters are vampires, some kind of shapeshifter, or a fairy. The chances of him being just a regular old Joe are pretty slim. But do we need another supernatural character, or does the show need a few more humans around?
