Spring breaker Selena Gomez returns to Wizards of Waverly Place in 2013 Disney Special

 Fans of  Selena Gomez and Disney Channel’s The Wizards of Waverly Place are going to be in for a treat come next year, as Disney and the pop star, who will be turning over a new leaf – one that looks really good – in Springbreakers, have a Waverly Place special planned for you. Currently untitled, it’s set to be a one-hour event and be executive produced by Gomez, reuniting her with her former Disney Channel family, including Jennifer Stone, Maria Canals-Barrera, Jake T. Austin, David DeLuise and Gregg Sulkin.

Even though Gomez is currently busy with current and upcoming projects like a new album, not to mention you can hear Selena’s voice at the current #1 movie in the land in Hotel Transylvania, she said that she wasn’t done with Waverly Place and wanted to give it an even better ending for the fans and the rest of the cast.

The plot?

The Russo crew is going to Italy, Tuscany specifically, where Alex accidentally casts a spell that creates a Good Alex and an Evil Alex. That’s double the Gomez, who have to battle each other for the sake of the world! Gomez will also have her hands full with a new love interest, as she goes native for a  ”Dominic”, described as “handsome and mysterious” and “heartthrob, model good looking.” You know, the important qualities.

Why wasn’t Justin Russo mentioned above? According to Zap2it, David Henrie  (Justin) will not be able to make it due to a commitments with another film.

No specific date has been set for the special, but it begins filming this month and should see the light of day sometime in 2013.
