Pretty Little Liar Says Aloha to Hawaii Five-0
Actress Janel Parrish is trading in her wicked ways for a ticket to paradise. She’s exchanging her villainous role on the set of Pretty Little Liars for a three-episode stint on the CBS series, Hawaii Five-0.
Fans know Parrish as Mona Vanderwall on the ABC Family teen drama. Mona is a shoplifter and sometime mental patient. What a great specimen for any social circle, am I right? She will now play a Type-A chemistry student who may also be a bit of a sociopath on the cop series. Let’s just say she doesn’t handle it very well when others muck up her plans. I suspect her already, but did she do it and who might she be suspected of murdering? We’ll have to wait and see.
According to THR the first of her Hawaii Five-0 episodes will air next year.
You may have guessed it, but we can confirm that this little voyage is a homecoming for Parrish. She was was born and raised in Honolulu and Five-0 does film on location for authenticity’s sake. Her credits include Heroes and Bratz: The Movie. She does look like a doll, so there’s no surprise there.
Hawaii Five-0 airs Mondays at 10 on CBS. Five-0 is in it’s third season. A third season of Pretty Little Liars is scheduled to take off starting on May 28, 2013.
Recently Five-0 was in the news for an ambitious attempt at re-making a classic episode from the original series. The classic, called “Hookman,” first aired in 1973 and revolved around a double amputee planning revenge against the cops responsible for the loss of his hands. The remake airs December 13th and is directed by celebrity, Peter Weller, a.k.a. Robocop. Series execs were even able to book some of the very same locations for filming that were used in the original episode.
