Canadian artist Carly Rae Jepsen has made the whole world smile with the video for her single, “Call Me Maybe.” More smiles will come when she joins the cast of Disney’s Shake it Up.
You heard correctly. Jepsen has booked a razzle dazzle guest appearance, scheduled for the upcoming Feb. 24 episode. The pop star will play herself and of course she’ll take some time to perform. Hot new photographic evidence has come from EW.
The series, currently in it’s third season, follows Bella Thorne and Zendaya as CeCe Jones and Rocky Blue, two background dancers on a show called, Shake It Up Chicago. So, when the show within the show books Carly Rae Jepsen to unleash her song “Sweetie,” the backup dancers will get to mix with the celebrity.
Also in the February episode, CeCe and Rocky will help Miss Burke, played by Tyra Banks, to win the heart Mr. Zigfeld, the object of her affections, acted by Alfonso Ribeiro. Sounds like a good scenario for Valentine’s Day. That’s not all. Logan, Ty and Deuce will be embroiled in their own adventure, when they assist Flynn in building a soapbox racing car. What’s not to like?
Though “Sweetie” is a track from Jepsen’s 2012 album, titled “Kiss”, the deluxe version, and rumored to be the artist’s favorite song, her latest album is called “Curiosity”. It was the “Kiss” album that included collaborations with Owl City and Justin Bieber.
In the first episode of the new year, called, “Oh Brother It Up,” CeCe and Rocky tried their hands at the food service industry by getting hired by Bob’s Kabobs, but things don’t quite work out as planned.
Check in with the gang next time on Jan. 27 for “Quit It Up”. That’s a scary title and for good reason. In the episode, the Shake It Up Chicago set is reconstructed and a new executive producer comes on board who forces Rocky and Cece have to audition all over again.
