Let’s be honest, when the sequel to ABC’s Boy Meets World was announced, how many of you were expecting Mr. Feeny, the ever-present teacher play by William Daniels in the original series, to be around in Girl Meets World? It’s certainly a nice thought to have him back considering how important he was and how funny it would be that, after all these years, he’s still popping up randomly in Cory Matthews’ life. But Daniels is 85 now. I would hardly expect him to be motivated to be apart of something like Girl Meets World, despite his history. Well, I stand before you proven wrong. Daniel’s will be back after all.
I’m not sure how Mr. Feeny will be written into the pilot, but rest assured he will be apart of it. Daniels will, according to the Hollywood Reporter film something for Girl Meets World, but whether it’s just a cameo or something bigger isn’t known at this time. Boy Meets World executive producer Michael Jacobs said, “Whoever wants to be part of this show will be and whoever wants to move on will.” It’s clear Daniel’s wanted to do this, but if the show gets ordered to series will he continue making appearances?
Although I’ve already been proven wrong once, I’m still going to go ahead and say I don’t think Daniels will stick around. This might’ve just been something fun he decided to do – a trip down memory lane if you will. I mean, why would you pass up a chance to reunite with your old co-stars Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel? I can’t think of a better reason why Daniel’s would want to come back than to see his old friends.
Girl Meets World brings back Cory and Topanga, now married and raising two young kids. The new show will follow their 13-year-old daughter, Riley (Rowan Blanchard), as she grows up, similar to how the original series followed Cory. Sabrina Carpenter and Teo Halm co-star.
