The CW’s The Vampire Diaries Flashes Back to TVD 1970
Attention Vampire Diaries fanatics: Today we have the latest photos from an upcoming new episode. What will they reveal? Get ready for a flashback!
Ah, 1970. Black Sabbath’s first album was released. Richard Nixon was in the White House. American Motors Corporation introduced the Gremlin to consumers, the Beatles broke up and Apollo 13 went to the moon. Also, apparently, Damon Salvatore partied in New York City and partied hard he did. We have photographic proof!
When The Vampire Diaries returns on March 14, with “Bring It On”, Elena must attend the latest Mystic Falls memorial. How much are you going to miss Jeremy? Do you think having to see the house in flames made things worse for Elena? Doom and gloom comes with the territory, but it is the episode which follows that will transport us to another time and place.
It’s called “Because the Night” and it kicks off as Damon takes Elena to New York City and is reminded of his past, which we lucky viewers will get to experience via flashbacks. Yes, that’s the murky underground club scene you see in the pics. Guest star Arielle Kebbel will play Lexie in those glimpses of the 70′s. Lexi and Damon had a complex relationship. Executive producer Julie Plec hinted at what we already know. Damon wasn’t necessarily a good guy in the past. Cue the dramatic music, please!
The episode will also see Bonnie struggling with a tough decision.
In related news, we are counting down to the April 25 episode, called “The Originals”, because it will launch the show’s spin-off. Klaus is a main character there, and we have learned a little something new about the actor who plays him. Joseph Morgan is also a new director! His film is called Revelation. The ten-minute short film will premier at the Atlanta Film Festival, which happens March 15-24.
