If Disney’s Austin & Ally has got you saying, “Please don’t stop the music,” then you’re in luck, because the duo will return to the small screen this fall. Get ready Ross Lynch and Laura Marano fans.
The show’s 2nd season aired it’s finale last October, but this week TV Line announced Austin & Ally‘s comeback.
Adam Bonnett, senior vice president of original programming for Disney Channels Worldwide said the new season “promises excitement for ‘Auslly’ fans as Austin’s music career kicks into full gear and Ally’s begins to take flight. This ensemble cast — Ross Lynch, Laura Marano, Raini Rodriguez and Calum Worthy — has incredible comedic chemistry and charm that continues to win audiences over.”
Production for season 3 will begin this July in preparation of an October premiere date. When it finally kicks off, you can expect the show to air on Sundays only on Disney.
This year at the 2013 Kids’ Choice Awards Austin & Ally‘s Ross Lynch, who plays lead, Austin Moon won in the category of Favorite TV Actor. That’s not bad to have on one’s blossoming resume! The show is seen around the world, airing everywhere from Disney Channel Japan to Disney Channel Bulgaria.
The series was created by Kevin Kopelow and Heath Seifert who were also the writers and producers of the Disney Channel sitcoms Sonny with a Chance and Jonas. Musically themed shows are always a hit on Disney. Just consider Hannah Montana, Jonas L.A., I’m in the Band, Phineas and Ferb and Shake it Up. Newly announced series for Disney include Wander Over Yonder, Liv & Maddie and of course Girl Meets World.
Set in Miami, Austin & Ally is a funny series centering on two musicians who are very mismatched. Austin Moon is over the top and always looking for fun, while Ally is a quiet songwriter who keeps to herself. At the end of season 1, Austin gets signed to Jimmy Starr’s record label and in season 2, Austin and Ally become a romantic couple.
