Close your eyes and quickly make a list of the top 10 artists you’d like to see perform on ABC’s Nashville. Is Brad Paisley on that list? Then get ready for it, because his season finale appearance is your wish come true.
When Mr. Paisley comes to town, fans will watch as he performs a song on the set with Connie Britton and Charles Esten. Nice! Paisley’s activity on the series links him to his wife, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, who already plays the recurring role of Peggy.
The Grammy winning singer and songwriter’s upcoming guest stint was confirmed by the good folks over at THR. His appearance on the season ender is scheduled to air on May 22. That’s it for season one, folks! Was it good for you?
Paisley will play himself and perform. I don’t guess Mr. Paisley will share any screen time with his real life wife. She’s not playing herself of course. She is Rayna’s soon-to-be ex-husband’s mistress after all. How do you think Paisley will get along with the other characters, especially his on-screen singing collaborators?
This is the first high-profile musical to guest star on the soapy series, at least in a musical capacity, considering Will.i.am appeared this season as a record producer, but didn’t show off his vocal or dance talent for the cameras.
“We’re focused on our cast of real country artists — it’s not a guest show; the fabric of Nashville is the fabric of our show,” executive producer R.J. Cutler said in a statement. “The musicians in the pilot are real Nashville musicians who are greatly respected there, and known and known by country music people there.”
You can catch Nashville on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on ABC. Hayden Panettiere, Clare Bowen, Eric Close, Charles Esten, Jonathan Jackson, Sam Palladio, Robert Wisdom and Powers Boothe also star.
