Former Doctor Who actor Christopher Eccleston will play Matt Jamison, a former reverend who know writes a self-published tabloid. Did he see any of this coming? Ann Dowd will play Patti Levin, the leader of the local chapter of a cult called the Guilty Remnant. Liv Tyler will co-star as Meg, a woman about to get married when sthe cult suddenly targets her. Amanda Warren will play Lucy Warburton the gutsy town mayor. And Michael Gaston is Dean, a wild card with a history of violence who may understand the times better than anyone else.

Deadline reports that the freshest members of the cast to be announced, Charlie and Max Carver, will play . The Carver brothers will play “happy-go-lucky identical twins” Scott and Adam Frost, to be brought to life by Charlie and Max, respectively. The young men are pals with the daughter of Theroux’s Kevin Garvey.

We announced earlier that the role of Garvey’s daughter had gone to newcomer Margaret Qualley. Her character is so “chill” during the radical times that she’s said to bring “levity to a dark world”.

Charlie and Max, meanwhile, are recurring on MTV’s Teen Wolf.

The Leftovers pilot is created by Damon Lindelof and directed by Peter Berg.
