BookExpo America: YA Editors’ Buzz Panel in Review
At BookExpo this year, I was excited for the YA Editors’ Buzz Panel, which was–as you might guess–a panel of editors of up and coming young adult books dishing about the books they felt would be a big deal. The books being discussed were Plain Kate by Erin Bow, Infinite Days by Rebecca Maizel, Matched [...]
Justin Cronin – The Passage – video interview
Justin Cronin is the author of The Passage which hits stores next Tuesday. The novel has already generated a ton of buzz–two major publishers got into a bidding war over it, early reviews are comparing it to Stephen King’s The Stand, Ridley Scott’s company already snapped up the film rights, there was a giant banner [...]
Anne Fortier – Juliet – video interview
I had the pleasure of speaking with Anne Fortier, author of the upcoming novel Juliet while at BEA last week. The novel isn’t out in the U.S. until August, but it’s already received acclaim from its overseas releases and has been generating buzz here. With good reason–the book’s premise is designed to delight and intrigue: [...]
Karen Miller – video interview
Karen Miller is the author of the Kingmaker, Kingbreaker fantasy duology, its sequel the Fisherman’s Children duology, the Godspeaker trilogy, and the Rogue Agent series (as K.E. Mills), as well as writing for the Stargate SG1 and Star Wars universes. She was an absolute delight to speak with last week at BEA. We chatted about [...]
Anton Strout – video interview
Anton Strout is the author of the Simon Canderous series of urban fantasy novels. The third book in the series, Dead Matter, hit stores in February. I caught up with Anton at the Penguin booth last week at BEA, where we stole a table from Sales to sit down for a chat. We talk about [...]
Paizo Publishing – new Pathfinder series (Video from BEA)
At BEA last week, BSCreview captured a video highlight of Paizo Publishing’s Pathfinder table-top role-playing game, including modules and additional content, as well as the Pathfinder fiction novels forthcoming 2010. BSCreview would like to thank Erik Mona of Paizo Publishing for providing us with this great promo spot. Head on over to Paizo’s website and [...]
BookExpo America 2010 in review – Lexie’s Experience
I’m a serious book fiend. In fact, the term “bookaholic” describes me perfectly (though, according to Tim from Orbit, over in the UK there was a controversy over using that word…). If I can impress upon people only one thing after talking to me for the first time, I always hope it’s this: my absolute [...]
BookExpo America 2010 Round-Up – Elena’s Day
I thought I’d play sweeper with our BEA 2010 coverage and leave my report for last, in case either Damon or B.T. missed something. They didn’t, so instead of the triumph of recalling an appointment they forgot, I’ve left myself with a challenge: how to tell you about the things we did in a new [...]
BookExpo America 2010 in Review – BT’s Take
Back in late 2009, Damon Caporaso (one of two fearless BSC Review leaders) approached me about attending BEA 2010 with him in New York City. The opportunity presented to me seemed a no-brainer, but with a new baby boy on the way, I wasn’t in the right frame of mind for considering lengthy trips. After [...]
BSC at BEA 2010
This one’s for our compeers in the book industry. BSCreview (and BSCkids) will be attending Book Expo America later this month in force. Specifically, we will have at least four representatives (including myself, our gaming editor, and one of the site owners) at the show day on Wednesday, May 26th. We’ll be there all day, [...]

Bookexpo America 2009
This year was my first Bookexpo and while I do not plan on doing an official write up of everything (Clare should be covering the panels we attended), I wanted to make a few comments on the event.
