Brent Weeks – The Black Prism – Q & A
A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to see fantasy author Brent Weeks do a reading and Q&A session in support of his latest release The Black Prism. The questions covered topics ranging from how he writes to how he plots to comparisons between this new series and his Night Angel trilogy. Here is [...]
The Black Prism – Brent Weeks – Not a Review
Listen up, I had the opportunity to read a bit more than the first 3 chapters listed over on Orbit’s website of The Black Prism by Brent Weeks so I will start the hype machine. Now I am held to the fact that I am not going to do an official review of the book [...]
Excerpt – Shadow’s Edge by Brent Weeks (Chapter I)
Usually our excerpts are exclusive when we post them here at the BSC so this is a bit of an odd ball for us but due to some special circumstances we are presenting fabulous, non-exclusive material!
Excited?
This is the first chapter from Shadow’s Edge by Brent Weeks and published last month by Orbit. They actually have this chapter and more via the widget at Brent Week’s site, The WayofShadows.com, but for a couple of reasons we present this chapter here now.
First, we presented exclusive material from the first book in the Night Angel trilogy last month and being a comic book fan, continuity is a central element in my life. Second, one of the co-owners here at BSC loves the series and and Imperial wishes come first. Third, I wanted to offer an alternative (and I think) more pleasant format to read the sample in. You can read BookSpot Central’s review of the first book, The Way of Shadows, as well as read our interview with Brent Weeks conducted last month if you missed it!
Synopsis:
Kylar Stern has rejected the assassin’s life. The Godking’s successful coup has left Kylar’s master, Durzo, and his best friend, Logan, dead. He is starting over: new city, new friends, and new profession.
But when he learns that Logan might actually be alive and in hiding, Kylar is faced with an agonizing choice: will he give up the way of shadows forever and live in peace with his new family, or will he risk everything by taking on the ultimate hit?
I would like to thank Orbit for allowing us to present the following sampler.
Please check out all of our other exclusives (well the rest are!) for more chapters/excerpts from novels and complete short stories from collections and anthologies to sample from all the best publishers in the world! BookSpot Central is the choice for several publishers to bring you the goods!
I hope you enjoy!

You can read the BookSpot Central review of The Way of Shadows and interview with Weeks. Synopsis: For Durzo Blint, [...]
