Sharper Image Sound Soother – review
So the holidays are over, and it is time to get out some quick reviews on some of the presents I received. The Sharper Image Sound Soother with 20 soothing sounds is first up to bat. Normally I like to sleep with some background noise, a humming A/C in the summer, a HEPA filtering device in the winter when it is too cold for the A/C. I just like background noise that is consistent, so that means television does not do it for me, plus who likes to leave on the television when you go to sleep, you may wake up to something horrible, or it may make you have crazy dreams. Well, my sister wanted me to get her a new cartridge for her The Authentic Sound Oasis Machine, so it got me to thinking: is there another sound machine out there that I might like for the holidays? The Sharper Image Sound Soother was the one that I received, so that is what I will be reviewing.

Will Ebooks Make Reviewing Easier?
Will ebooks make reviewing easier?
As I was finishing up another review for the site, I was struck with the following question: “Will reviewing become easier with ebooks?” That is really just part of the overall question of ebooks, though; I mean, I am one of those old school people who love the look of a grand library in the house filled to the brim with classic hardcovers. So let us just pretend that I could get the hardcover and the ebook–would that make reviewing easier for me?

Something of a new feature here at BSCreview, because you know how we love trying out new stuff. This is going to be the start of BSC Battle Wednesday where anything goes, no holds barred. This week we have Betty Suarez from Ugly Betty vs Pam Beesly from The Office. Yes, I know they are not administrative assistants anymore (can we say receptionist and secretary?). So the question is, who would you want working for you?

New York Renaissance Faire – 2009 – Pirate Invasion Weekend

While sitting at home in the wonderful weather, something dawned on me. I had not been to the New York Renaissance Faire since I was a teenager. Had it been that long? Now I have two kids of my own, 3 and 5, and I felt it was high time that they experience the magic of the faire. September 13th we packed the kids in the car and had some wonderful weather to look forward to while stomping the faire grounds. Oh, by the way, did I mention it was Pirate Invasion Weekend?
