GAME OF THRONES and BOARDWALK EMPIRE Helmer Goes On MIDNIGHT DELIVERY for Guillermo del Toro?
Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire may be two very different shows, but whether they are pleasing fantasy fans or crime fans, they both please. The cable favorites share one more commonality and his name is Brian Kirk. As a director, Kirk was behind “Hold Me in Paradise,” episode 1.8 of Boardwalk Empire. He also [...]
GAME OF THRONES Kingslayer in Horror Flick
Guillermo del Toro is making sure the world stays horrified, one picture at a time, and Game of Thrones actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, the Danish actor who plays Jaime Lannister in the HBO series, will help him. Aside from acting as HBO’s Kingslayer, Nikolaj has appeared as the star of his short-lived series New Amsterdam (Hey, [...]
Emma Watson in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST for del Toro?
Even a different hairstyle doesn’t change the fact that she’s known around the world as Hermione Granger, but Emma Watson has been busy with some new films to break out of that typecasting prison, and her latest project appears to be Guillermo del Toro’s take on Beauty and the Beast. Producer Denise Di Novi recently [...]
Idris Elba in Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim
I’m an Idris Elba fan! I’ve been watching his BBC psychological crime drama, Luther on netflix. It was great seeing him in Thor and Takers on the big screen, too. But Idris the mecha pilot? Who would have thunk it!? 38 minutes ago this was posted to his Twitter page: Congrats @idriselba on the new [...]
Best Fantasy Movies of the Decade: 2000-2009
When I was asked to write a companion piece to my Best Science Fiction Movies of the Decade list, I thought it would be equally as easy. I was wrong. There were a lot of kind of good fantasy movies over the last 10 years, but not really a lot of great ones. I think [...]

Producer/Director Guillermo del Toro has a pretty full schedule these days with work on both a movie based on Disney’s Haunted Mansion attraction and the animated Alma, but he hasn’t forgotten about At the Mountains of Madness, the adaptation of H.P. Guillermo Del Toro and James Cameron Climb Lovecraft’s Mountains of Madness
Deadline reports that Guillermo Del Toro and James Cameron will be teaming up for a definitive take on At the Mountains of Madness, the classic H.P. Lovecraft novella about the dark origins of mankind. Following a grisly revelation on an Antarctic expedition, it becomes apparent that modern man evolved from a horrid race of creatures [...]
Splice – movie trailer
Splice is apparently a rather anticipated trailer and film in the horror corners of filmdom and actually doesn’t look half bad (though Brodie looks rather Bill in Bill & Ted–don’t like seeing my future Predators frontman like that!), in fact it looks kind of sweet. Written and directed by Vincenzo Natali, the film garnered positive [...]
The Hobbit – Guillermo del Toro in, Aragorn Out
Just catching up on a bit of new for The Hobbit adaptation. Comingsoon talked to Viggo Mortensen (who was promoting The Road) about his possible return Middle-Earth as Aragorn, and were told that it’s more than likely that the character would not be in the first film–remember the story will be split into two films. Further, the director of the film, Guillermo del Toro, confirmed he (del Toro) would be appearing.
More after the jump…
