Transformers Dark of the Moon 3′s Missing Piece: Personality
Last week saw the release of the Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon, the final installment of Michael Bay’s Transformer franchise. There are many things to like about Bayformers (fan term, FYI), and there is also much to hate. Some people love the movies because they have giant space robots ripping each other apart. Long time [...]
Joe Hill’s Locke and Key Pilot Screening at Comic-Con
The Lock and Key adaptation is a no go? BoomTron hasn’t learned such Say-What news since the Wonder Woman pilot fizzled and flopped. Still, there’s some good news for fans and pilot actors and creators, too. Deadline reports, even if the high profile comic book adaptation series “didn’t make the cut at Fox” and won’t [...]
Transformers Dark of the Moon Prequel Preview
Fans of the Transformers film franchise won’t have to wait until this summer to get their fix. The first issue in a four part prequel comic book series, Transformers: Rising Storm, was released this week. MTV.com has an exclusive preview with several images. Transformers: Rising Storm takes place immediately before the events in the upcoming [...]
Sony Nabs Zombies vs. Robots for Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes
You only have to check out the TV and theaters to see where the interest is right now. The Transformers franchise is still going strong and AMC’s Walking Dead has made zombies cool (with the CW following in their footsteps), and of course there’s the perfect blend of the two – the IDW comic Zombies [...]
Michael McMillian Assists on True Blood Comics
An anti-vampire crusader helping out with a vampire comic book? Art does make strange bed fellows, indeed. Michael McMillian, who plays Steve Newlin on True Blood, has teamed up with IDW Publishing and comics writer Marc Andreyko to script the next story arc of the True Blood comic book series. The new storyline involves new [...]
Sarah Bolger joins Locke and Key – based on Joe Hill’s Comic
Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are the brilliant minds behind great television series and films such as Fringe, Transformers, Star Trek, and Alias. Now they are hard at work to develop a show for Fox based on the popular comic book Locke and Key by Joe Hill. It was October when we first made the [...]
Anna Paquin on True Blood: All Together Now Cover
Do you like your comic books bloody? You may recall that back in April we reported on HBO’s True Blood getting its own comic book. The addictive paranormal series hasn’t stopped there. EW proudly delivered an exclusive look at the brand spankin’ new True Blood graphic novel. The book is called True Blood, Vol. 1: [...]
Shipwreck In A Perfect Storm
It’s not a secret that as a kid I was a huge G.I. Joe fan, both of the cartoon and the MARVEL comic run. As you get older two things happen, one, while you still love it, the cartoon becomes a bit harder to re-watch. You’re still smiling for sure, but half the time you’re [...]
Spielberg takes Joe Hill’s Locke & Key
Got to admire a guy like Joe Hill. Through writing such as 20th Century Ghosts (his short story collection) and the novel Heart-Shaped Box, he has done a fine job in building a name for himself in spite of being the son of Stephen King. Not using the King name was an effort to let [...]
IDW’s True Blood #1 comic book cover
At the beginning of April we told you that IDW would be publishing an official companion series of comic book for Season 3 of HBO’s True Blood. We now have the cover for the first issue, which will be shipping on July 21st. The third season of the television series starts back up on June [...]
HBO’s True Blood – the comic book by IDW
One of my favorite publishers, the source of comic Nirvana via the G.I. Joe and Transformers comic that I love so much (Costa for Eisner!), has acquired the rights to publish a six issue miniseries. In the release, Ball describes the arc as a “companion” to the HBO television series (which BSC always has you [...]
IDW drops G.I. Joe Mystery
If you follow BSC or even my on blog you know that all you have to do insinuate that something is G.I. Joe related and I become utterly – even disturbingly – fascinated. I’m still excited about last month’s announcement regarding the FCBD (Free Comic Book Day) issue #155 1/2, so I’m almost unprepared for this sweet little teaser that IDW dropped on MTV a few hours ago. It’s a guessing game, and without knowing context (is it the IDW comic continuity, or their movie/comic continuity etc) I kind of want to let it marinate for a minute, and just take it all in.
Catch the images after the jump…
