Source Code – movie review
Mozart originally ended his opera Don Giovanni with Don Giovanni descending into Hell, his soul claimed by the devil, and later added a final ensemble to bring the performance away from the bleakness of that end, which was considered too dark. For me, the opera is stronger with the final ensemble omitted, because it allows [...]
The Bourne Legacy Leading Man Search
Universal has its eye on an August 2012 release for Bourne Legacy, a spin-off from the action-packed Bourne film Trilogy so many loved, which starred Matt Damon. We got the news from Variety that “the hunt for the new face of Universal’s Bourne franchise is heating up.” Writer-director Tony Gilroy says the star of the [...]
Duncan Jones’ Source Code Trailer
The second trailer for Duncan Jones’ time travel adventure, Source Code, has hit the web but I really think they should have left things alone. Once again, we see Captain Colter Stevens (Jake Gyllenhaal) getting blown up a few times while using a government project known as Source Code to try and stop a bombing [...]
Jake Gyllenhaal – Source Code trailer
What do you get when you mix Quantum Leap (Google it if you’re too young to recall that one) and Groundhog Day? Hey, mix in a little 12 Monkeys for good measure and you might get Source Code, an upcoming science fiction treat! What is Source Code? Well, the film is about a near future [...]
Prince of Persia: the Sands of Time – movie review
Video game movies have a notorious reputation for being bad. They began way back in 1993 with Super Mario Brothers, and between now and then there have been a line-up of black marks on the box office that make a video game movies a very risky business. Sure, there have been a few glimmers of not [...]

Gemma Arterton – Prince of Persia TV teasers
I’ve been seeing this theme of big budgets film promos not highlighting the real star of these films. I had to go through the publicity of Clash of the Titans, another sword & sandal film with Gemma Arterton, that had all the publicity go to male lead (in this case Sam Worthington). Don’t nobody want [...]
Disney’s Prince of Persia Super Bowl TV Spot
More Super Bowl commercials, this one from Disney’s Prince of Persia, which stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Gemma Arterton in the adaptation of the popular video game. Back in November we got the international trailer which was released the day after the domestic version’s release. We’ve also posted promo images from the film that were released [...]
Jake Gyllenhaal Prince of Persia poster

Here is a Jake Gyllenhaal character poster to go with the similarly styled (and much better) Gemma Arterton poster we got earlier. Honestly, these are both kind of bland, especially after the footage we’ve seen (this month brought us both the domestic and international trailer) has been surprisingly promising (remember, it’s based on a video game–standards aren’t too high).
