I had to wait a day latter to be exposed to the new song of the generation that debuted on the first week of American Idol’s new season, from one of this decades most important voices, General Larry Platt. Jimmy Fallon donned his Neil Young persona again to cover and offer homage to the General, once again proving hit-maker Simon Cowell correct in his assertion of “You know, I have a horrible feeling that song could be a hit,”" after seeing the original debut to the world.

Jimmy Fallon – Post-Apocalyptic Andy Rooney’s Thanksgiving Message
Caught this the other day and thought it was funny. There are some obvious misses in the skit, but I think the good parts (some of the Rooneyisms) outweigh the bad. I could be (in fact, I think its likely) mixing episodes because I caught a couple over the week, but one had appearances by Mos Def and Talib Kweli (which I want to say also had Seth Green and BSC-favorite Padma Lakshmi as guests), and when you consider that the Roots are already there, that’s a hell of a lot of awesome on stage. Anyways, below is a skit Fallon did, and the title of this post is intro enough.

You probably remember that Fallon’s previous spoof on Pattinson/Twilight (which was hilarious), and when I saw this last night I was afraid I was catching a rerun (irregular programming here), but I still wanted to note it anyway. Once again, Robert is bothered, and Fallon delivers a comedic reenactment live, undercover footage of Pattinson up in a tree.

I have to admit that at first I wasn’t feeling his show (though I was was fan of the host in general), but lately when I catch parts of the show I have to admit that I’ve enjoyed the segments–not to mention he has the mighty Roots crew as his band! In what is the best Twilight related thing I’ve seen on screen, Fallon does a (second) Robert Pattinson/Twilight spoof.
