Hey, Heroes fans, one of your alumni is getting a new gig. He was your Nathan Petrelli once upon a time, and now actor Adrian Pasdar will appear on Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

Pasdar, 46, will play a wine collector named Mason Kent.

He’s joined by Mad Men actor Bryan Batt in the same upcoming episode.

Batt, 48, will portray a premiere wine sommelier, also known as “The Nose.”

This, according to TV Guide.

What’s the plot? Well, both men will be investigated following the death of “a high-end wine connoisseur — who has been counterfeiting the product.” Cause of death? The man suffers a heart attack after someone locks him in his own wine cellar! The episode, that does not yet have a scheduled air date, is titled “Trophy Wine.” Dun dun dun.

Here on BoomTron we know who else will appear on Criminal Intent. You can learn, too, just follow the link. And speaking of future guest stars, Cynthia Nixon is also coming. Could this mean another Emmy nomination? We’ll have to wait and see.

Law & Order: CI is in season ten and appears on the USA network on Sunday nights. Jeri Ryan, Jay Mohr, and Julia Ormond have all guest starred this season, with Ormond’s role as police psychologist Dr. Paula Severin being a recurring one.

Law & Order: Criminal Intent is bringing back some familiar faces for what might be its final season, and a couple of new faces are coming along for the ride to make sure there’s plenty of drama to go around for everybody.

In addition to a brand new shrink to dig around in Detective Goren’s troubled psyche, TVLine reports that Detective Eames will be having a family reunion when Raymond J. Barry (Justified) makes an appearance as her dad.

Kathryn Erbe, who plays Eames, wouldn’t provide too many details on the storyline, but did say the relationship would be complicated, and there would be some “very, very meaty scenes” shared between her and Barry.

Law & Order: Criminal Intent just started its 10th season, but there’s currently no info about when Daddy Eames will be showing up.

Flipping the channel from USA to HBO has Deadline reporting that Emily Mortimer is in talks for the female lead in the tentatively titled More As This Story Develops.

Mortimer would play MacKenzie, the executive producer of a show hosted by cable news anchor Will McCallister (Jeff Daniels). According to the description, “producing the news is what [MacKenzie] does best and everything else is tied for last place.”

If negotiations go well, in addition to Daniels, Mortimer will also be joining Olivia Munn and Alison Pill in the HBO pilot.

Where my girls at? I’ve got some interesting news. TV Line is reporting that actress Cynthia Nixon has landed a brand new gig. Nixon is more than just a little well known as Sex and the City‘s saucy lawyer Miranda Hobbes. The exclusive buzz has it, law is also in her future as she signs up for Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

Nixon previously won a 2008 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series thanks to her guest appearance on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, so this is not uncharted territory for her. Her Criminal IntentI role will go down in an episode said to be “loosely inspired by the troubled Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.” They always promise to rip their show topics direct from current headlines and it seems like as much is true here as Nixon’s character is “the high-strung and larger-than-life director behind a problem-plagued Broadway version of Icarus. After a sabotaged stunt results in the death of an actor on stage, Amanda spirals out of control.” Ruh-roh. “Criminal Intent‘s 10th and possibly final season kicks off May 1 (8/7c) on USA Network.”

Nixon may next appear in the film, Rampart, which I hear may also include actors Woody Harrelson, Ben Foster, Robin Wright, Sigourney Weaver, Ice Cube, Anne Heche, and Steve Buscemi. What a cast, if they all do sign on!

Vincent D’Onofrio’s Detective Goren has always been a bit on the odd side but he got progressively weirder and more troubled as time went by, eventually getting canned for insubordination, but TVLine brings word that Goren is finally getting some much-needed help in the 10th and final season of Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

Julia Ormond (Nurse Jackie, CSI: NY) is joining the team for the final eight episodes of the farewell season as Dr. Paula Severin, a police psychologist that will have her hands full with unraveling Goren’s tortured past during mandatory therapy sessions.

It’s the final season and Goren never seems to catch a break in his personal life, so I’m wondering if the producers might throw the poor guy a bone and create a possible romance between doctor and patient. Sure, it’s totally unethical but it is Law & Order, after all, and Goren has never been one to follow the rules.

Law & Order: Criminal Intent’s final season starts on Sunday, May 1st on the USA Network, and it wouldn’t be right to end things without a familiar face so keep an eye out for the return of Goren’s former partner, Detective Eames (Kathryn Erbe), too.

As one show within the Law & Order franchise ends, another one still tries to find its footing, and the newly rebooted Law & Order: Los Angeles is bringing in new faces too.

He played a Thor look-alike in 1987′s Adventures in Babysitting (I love that film) and a disturbed, overweight recruit in Full Metal Jacket the same year. I fell in love with him when he played Robert E. Howard (creative force behind Conan) in 1996′s The Whole Wide World opposite Rene Zellweger.

Most recently, he left his nine year stint on Law and Order: Criminal Intent and had a tiny role in Brooklyn’s Finest (a film I did not much care for, so don’t waste your money). He’s Vincent D’Onofrio and now the Wall Street Journal’s Speakeasy reports he’ll be returning to the role of Detective Robert Goren.

The upcoming tenth season of Criminal Intent could be its last so it is only fitting that D’Onofrio would return. Eight new episodes of the Dick Wolf spin-off hit the USA network in 2011.

Law and Order: CI’s Captain Danny Ross has a replacement and comes in the form of Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio when the ninth season debuts on USA in March of next year. I don’t follow the show, but the upheaval has stirred up some strong opinions by BSC readers.

Mastrantonio is the new captain but has as of yet been given no name. She is (reportedly) the first female to assume the role on the show. People my age know Mastrantonio from Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, The Abyss–not to mention as Gina Montana in Scarface. More recently she was a recurring character on CBS’ Without a Trace from 2005-2006.
