IDW Transformers Ongoing Coming in November!
A bit late on this, but the first on-going Transformers title in several years deserves to be noted! I’ve been a huge fan of IDW’s Transformers titles (though not the movie related stuff–their own work). Transformers, through its many incarnations across several mediums is both incredibly contradictory and convoluted (not to mention, not consistent even within single mediums), so I really appreciate the work here that’s able to create a great current series while instilling this historic timeline and sense of history to the classic struggle we remember. It’s going to be written by Mike Costa, who was a principal behind the AWESOME G.I. Joe Cobra mini (I talked G.I. Joe with Costa in February–check that out, it’s dope)

Jan-Ken-Pon – G.I. Joe: Cobra #1 & #2 review
These are my thoughts on G.I. Joe: Cobra through it’s first two issues. This series is written by Mike Costa and Christos Gage and features art by Antonio Fusio, and published by IDW. I highly recommend readers to check out a previous BSC Beat interview I conducted with Costa about this series.
The BSC Beat Interview – Deep Cover with Mike Costa and G.I. Joe: Cobra
Back with another edition of the BSC Beat, our 10 question, topic specific, interview format! Today we have one half of the writing team of one of the three new G.I. Joe titles being published by IDW. Mike Costa is teaming up with Christos Gage and artist Antonio Fuso to bring us G.I. Joe: Cobra, a 4-issue spotlight on Chuckles going deep cover and infiltrating Cobra. The story was previewed (along with shorts on the other two titles) in IDW’s Zero issue (see my review). You can also check out the longer On The Spot interview I conducted with the writer of the main title, Chuck Dixon, for more info!
And yes I know that there is one extra question, but our silly ideas and goals of even, numerical, limits cannot contain G.I. Joe! I’d like to welcome Mr. Costa as we talk Joe, what Donnie Brasco has in common with You Got Served, and getting the license to kill from Hasbro.
