A veritable feast of twenty-one Cenobite tales is served up for your pleasure and pain in the anthology of horror short stories, Hellbound Hearts, based on Clive Barker’s novel The Hellbound Heart and his Hellraiser series of movies. Reading them will satisty your most twisted desires, your need to be sated, by the latest and the best stories about the infamous Cenobite – Pinhead (named that for obvious reasons) – and his fellow associates in the sadistic Order of the Gash. The pain will rise from the creeping realization as you progress through the book that you’re also getting closer to the book’s finish, and a return to the mundane, everyday world of reality – ugh!

Empire has debuted a poster for a film that has names that draw the fans of speculative fiction! The Box is based off of the Richard Matheson (I Am Legend) story “Button, Button”, and is directed by Richard Kelly, the man who brought us Donnie Darko (but not the ridiculous ‘sequel’). Its cast includes Cameron Diaz, James Marsden and Frank Langella.

The Box has two things going for it. First, we know the source material is solid because it’s from a Richard Matheson short story (Button, Button). Second, it’s directed by Richard Kelly who brought us Donnie Darko, one of my favorite movies ever.
