James Purefoy in Solomon Kane featurette
Last week we saw the first trailer for Solomon Kane, the film starring Jame Purefoy playing the Robert E. Howard character. Now, MTV has release a featurette for a film that I don’t think has a U.S distributor yet but will be screened at the Toronto International Film Festival (today).

If it’s R.E. Howard, we have to talk about it at BSC because we are talking about the roots of American speculative fiction, especially of the asskicking variety. I’m an avid Weird Tales (though that’s more for Conan) collector, but I dig most of Howard’s characters on some level. We’ve noted the film before when we put up some images and its poster, most of which features the titular character being played by James Purefoy (HBO’s Rome–and let’s not forget A Knight’s Tale!)

I’m a little late on this as I was grabbing these images while I was on the phone brokering BSC power moves and forgot that I did so in the process! In July I noted a poster to the upcoming Solomon Kane film, and a few days ago BloodyDisgusting.com posted some images from the film, along with some other posters I hadn’t seen before.

Solomon Kane Poster and Image
This place used to be called Fantasybookspot.com, so when a Solomon Kane movie is being made we are on the lookout! Not as well known as Howard’s most famous creation of Conan, Fantasy fans know all about characters like Solomon Kane (not to mention Steve Costigan, King Kull, and Bran Mak Morn!). Kane is headed for the big screen, and we have an image and poster of James Purefoy as Kane.
