The Prisoner by Carlos J. Cortes – review

Set on Earth in Washington, D.C., Carlos J. Cortes’s new techno-thriller The Prisoner depicts a realistic scenario in which scientists come up with a solution for the problem of overcrowded prisons in the United States. The answer? Hibernation. Before you scoff at this possiblity, or laugh at its improbability, consider what the author told me in an interview in January of 2009 about scientists experimenting on trying to induce a hibernation-like state in people: “Human trials started in 2008.”

SDCC – 9-minute Preview of AMC’s The Prisoner
SDCC unveiled a pretty lengthy teaser of AMC’s forthcoming remake of the classic ’60s SF series that starred the late Patrick McGoohan. We posted previous teasers for The Prisoner in March, but now we get a lengthy 9-minute look at the show.

A peek at AMC’s The Prisoner
AMC’s The Prisoner is coming upon us and not lacking star power with Jim Caviezel and Ian McKellen involved. This is a planned 6-episode remake of the classic Spy/SF show from the ’60′s, and Caviezel is playing the roll of the recently deceased Patrick McGoohan (Number 6).
