DragonCon 2009 – The Wheel of Time: The Gathering Storm Preview

A couple of days ago I posted a press release regarding Brandon Sanderson’s book tour schedule, promoting The Gathering Storm, the next installment of Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time. With that release was a note that we’d have an announcement at this week’s DragonCon regarding the series. Our own Medora was on the spot and has the scoop.

Brandon Sanderson Interview – Bookexpo America 2009 Video
This was my first year at Bookexpo America (BEA) and how better to spend BEA time than to be interviewing one of the most talked about authors in the speculative fiction field? Brandon Sanderson was nice enough to take the time out of his busy schedule to sit down with BSC for a 20+ minute video interview.

Book Review – The Fires of Heaven by Robert Jordan
I almost never bother with getting all books in a series in the same print so while a lot of my Wheel of Time books are Tor mass market paperbacks, I own a (rather battered) Orbit copy of The Fires of Heaven. One of the older prints that still has the artwork by Darrell K. Sweet on it. Later Orbit shifted to the design I used for this review.
Beware, contains spoilers for the first four book in the series….

Book Review – The Shadow Rising
As I mentioned in my review of The Dragon Reborn, the first three books in the Wheel of Time series are bit different in style and scope than the books that follow. At almost four hundred thousand words The Shadow Rising is the first of three most massive books in this series (not counting A Memory of Light, which by all reports promises to be enormous). Where the first three books are relatively self-contained stories, in this book the story branches out in several directions. It is where the book where Jordan’s saga becomes a true epic……
Book Review – The Dragon Reborn
Being the third book in Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time series. Jordan is still writing at a fast page at this stage, The Dragon Reborn is published only eleven months after The Great Hunt. I have always felt that the first three are somewhat different from the books that follow.
