I was agreeing with the Alien being more terrifying until I read Prestons comment, I’m now looking at what he classed as depressing to be horrifically terrifying. I’d prefer to meet an Alien over The Borg because the Alien would make it quick the Borg can drag it out indefinitely, that’s just scarier!

I’m leaning towards Xenomorph, but then I’ve never seen Alien 3,Resurrection,or the AVPs so I’ve only witnessed them at their best and most frightening.

Of course, if I had to choose between death and assimilation I’d choose death. With Aliens the worst that can happen(as far as I know) is you become a living incubator for a while followed by the finality of death, albeit an excruciating one. If you’re captured by the Borg you go knowing that your body is going to be used to further their conquest for many years to come. And even if you could kill them there are the same problems that spring up with zombies– sympathy and hesitation. If faced with a loved one who’s been assimilated,could you go through with it? Destroying them is a mercy,but that’s easy to say and another thing to do.

So I guess Aliens= more evil/scarier, and the Borg= more… depressing?
